Hot Ribbon Coder Printer HP-241B Failure analysis

Printing is indented but colorless

1. The preheating time is insufficient, and the machine needs to be warmed up for at least 15 minutes.

2. The front and back of the ribbon are incorrectly installed. Please install the ribbon correctly according to the instructions on the manual.

3. The temperature adjustment is too low, so the ribbon is not heated enough, please increase the temperature.

4. The electric heating tube is damaged, the heating function is invalid, and the electric heating tube needs to be replaced.

5. The ribbon is soaked in water, viscous oil or deteriorated or the quality is too bad, and the ribbon of better quality is replaced.

Printing without crease

The connecting rod is too short, so the printing pressure is insufficient. Please adjust the double-head screws according to the instructions.

Unclear writing

1. The preheating time is insufficient, and the machine needs to be warmed up for at least 15 minutes.

2. The temperature adjustment is too low, so the ribbon is not heated enough. Please increase the temperature.

3. The ribbon step is too small, so that it prints the used ribbon portion and adjusts the ribbon step.

4. The connecting rod is too short, so the printing pressure is insufficient. Please adjust the double-head screws according to the instructions.

5. The ribbon pressing force is insufficient, so that the ribbon does not go. Please replace the ribbon one-way bearing or adjust the ribbon pressing force.

6. The ribbon is soaked in water, viscous oil or deteriorated or the quality is too bad, and the ribbon of better quality is replaced.

7. If the temperature is too high, please lower the temperature.

Printing unevenness uneven height unevenness

1. The copper grain height error is too large, select, repair or replace the copper grain

2. The lower plane of the print head and the plane of the base are not parallel, so that the printing is not flat, check and correct, so that the base is flat.

3. The copper characters are not installed and repacked.

Ribbon deviation

1. Each guide rod is deformed and the skew is not parallel. Please check and correct one by one, and then install it correctly.

2. The position of the guide ring is incorrect. Please check and correct.

3. The pressure pulley and the stepper wheel are not in good contact. Please adjust the spring pressure.

The print head is often stuck

1. The connecting rod is too long, please shorten the connecting rod.

2. The rubber sheet is aging, please replace it.
